The title “HeartSongs” refers to Roger’s optimistic focus on what is good and what works in our lives. “The Great American Songbook has never had more to offer,” he says. “This music brings us together and reassures friends and family that they can chart their own course with confidence, conviction and a spring in their step.”
Roger made his New York solo debut last summer and has performed in numerous cabaret shows since 1996.
Roger’s CD, "About Now" was described by public radio as "Chock-full of the sorts of clever lyrics and lush arrangements that characterize songs for intimate settings from the last century to today." Tracks from “About Now" have been played extensively on radio stations and streaming services around the world.
Roger is Vice Chairman of the Great American Songbook Foundation founded by Michael Feinstein and is past board chair for The Cabaret in Indianapolis. By day, he serves as CEO of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds (NCIGF) with members in every state who protect insurance consumers in the rare circumstances when a property and casualty insurer fails. Roger and his wife, Indianapolis actor Cindy Phillips have three grown children and a granddaughter!
