Our incredibly talented singing staff of bartenders and waiters have Broadway, Off-Broadway and National Touring credits. The legendary don't tell mama PIANO BAR opens at 5:00pm daily for Happy Hour. A pianist plays cocktail music until 9:00pm. (discounted house wines, domestic beers and well drinks are specials.) From 9:00pm until the wee hours, our singing waiter/bartender staff along with the singing wizard at the keyboard keep it a non-stop party! Additionally, there is an open-mic where any audience member - and often celebrities! - can get up and sing a song to the cheering crowd as well.

Nicola is an Australian actress and has been in New York since moving for college in 2019. She graduated from AMDA amidst the pandemic and has been working in the arts since! Some of her most notable roles include; Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Mabel in Fame!, Schwartzy in The Spelling Bee, Tricia in Dog Sees God and most recently in the new musical The Joe Hill Revival as the Dance Captain/Ensemble. Jonathan is happy to be joining the Mama's team. Best know for his instagram alter ego @InappropriatePatti where he impersonates the queen Patti LuPone singing songs she would never sing. When not working at Mamas, or making Patti parodies he can be seen performing and directing on stages through out the US and the world. Some career highlights include: Mike in the international tour of the Broadway Revival of A Chorus Line, Edgar the Bat Boy in Bat Boy, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamboat, Billy Crocker in Anything Goes, Adriana in a gender bent production of Boys From Syracuse, Henrik in a Little Night Music, Brad Majors in Rocky Horror Show, Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd, and many more. Jonathan has also had the pleasure of performing in cabaret venues all across NYC Birdland, Laurie Beechman, Greenroom 42, Lincoln Center and plans to bring his very own @InappropriatePatti show to the cabaret world. James Scheider is an actor-musician, music director, and composer/arranger based in Manhattan. He originated the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the 2006 premiere reading of Million Dollar Quartet at Village Theatre and in addition to playing the role in the Chicago cast, pre-Broadway, he also played the role on the 1st National Tour. James made his Broadway debut understudying Tony award winner Levi Kreis in the original Broadway cast of Million Dollar Quartet. He recently took another turn as the Killer, originating the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the World Premiere of Rock and Roll Man: The Alan Freed Story at Bucks County Playhouse and reprising his role in a production of the same name at Berkshire Theatre Festival. Off-broadway and subsequent Broadway runs are scheduled pending pandemic safety. He originated and helped develop the role of George Spencer in the Off-Broadway production Evening-1910 at Axis Theatre, working alongside composer/music director Paul Carbonara, well known as the lead guitarist for the band Blondie. James recently co-music directed and starred in Chasin' Dem Blues: The Untold Story of Paramount Records (Professor) at the nationally acclaimed Milwaukee Repertory Theatre Company. James is a resident pianoman at Don't Tell Mama and Uncle Charlie's Piano Lounge as well as a frequent guest artist at NYC piano bar staples such as The Duplex. His work as an audio engineer through his studio, Studio Bogardus, is featured in the recent release on Broadway Records, Night of the Living Dead! The Musical! Cabaret Warhorse, RICKY RITZEL has been a fixture on the nightclub and cabaret scene in NYC for over 38 years and his latest venture, RICKY RITZEL'S BROADWAY, received the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 MAC Award for Outstanding Recurring Series. Ricky has received most Cabaret awards including 20 Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs Awards in 11 different categories. An accomplished solo performer, Ricky has also accompanied such greats as Vivian Blaine,, Varla Jean Merman, Julie Wilson, Lenora Nemetz , Nanette Fabray and Miss Coco. With famed Chicago jazz vocalist Spider Saloff, Ricky created several award winning revues such as "1938", which was recorded on the Kopathetics label, "Porgy & Bess: a Cabaret Concert" and "Ira and Others".. Ricky is half of the kooky "Lounge does Top 40" duo, THE LOUNGEOLEERS with 5 CD's on the Emenar label. He can also be seen as SCARY MAN who comes on to Christian Campbell in the film"TRICK". Ricky has been seen in Las Vegas as Jimmy Durante in"Stop the Music!" with Sharon McNight as Sophie Tucker and toured with Leslie Anderson for 5 years performing every known work they could find by Johnny Mercer in 4 different revues. He is also proud to have served as the first Artistic Director for cabaret at the premiere season of the Gettysburg Festival ,and is on the Advisory Board of Directors for the Manhattan Association of Cabarets, of which he was President from 2006-2009.

Elaine Brier is a singer comedienne who has been entertaining people with inappropriate material for longer than she cares to remember. A native New Yorker from the Bronx, she attended the High School of Music and Art to study vocal music and did not dance on a table even once. She started her performing career in her early twenties singing in the piano bars and practicing the fine art of schtick. She has done many other things over the years such as voice overs, commercials, television, corporate gigs, birthing babies, etc.. but performing for a live audience is still where her passion lies. She has been working at Don't Tell Mama for about 20 years and is very happy to have it as her second home. She has three kids and hopes to write some songs that they are allowed to listen to some day.

Nate Buccieri has performed extensively throughout New York City, the United States, Latin America, and Europe as singer/songwriter, pianist, vocalist, accompanist, and music director. With a wide repertoire encompassing pop, jazz, Broadway, classical, and his own original music, Nate is most often seen spiritedly entertaining in oodles of NYC music clubs and hot spots, gorgeous performance halls and theaters, both solo and alongside a number of distinguished performers. Winner of the 2011 MAC Award for Outstanding Piano Bar Entertainer and the 2011 Bistro Award for Musical Director, his weekly performances presently have a home in NYC's legendary Don't Tell Mama, Brandy's Piano Bar, and the Duplex. GERRY DIEFFENBACH

Gerry Dieffenbach is a singer, songwriter, pianist and musical director. He has twice received the Songwriters Guild of America President's Award, the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Director, the CAB Magazine Award for Sustained Achievement, and the Critics Choice Award for Outstanding Album of the Year for his CD of original songs, Well Informed. He performs his original music and pop standards in his inimitable style in the New York clubs weekly. A SONGBOOK showcase of Gerry's music has been produced by Arts and Artists at St. Paul's at The Donnell Library Theater, NYC, and he is a Songwriters Guild of America board member and a voting member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). His original songs have been recorded and performed on concert and cabaret stages by many artists. Trained in piano and voice at Carnegie Mellon University and Manhattan School of Music, Gerry was resident musical director for the Hempstead Repertory Theatre. He has musical directed and accompanied numerous performers including, Shauna Hicks, Georga Osborne, Christine Pedi, Darius de Haas, Karen Mason, Donny Osmond, Joely Fisher, Clint Holmes, Margaret Whiting, Petula Clark, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and Joan Rivers. He was on the development team as musical director, pianist and lead singer for the Broadway musical DREAM, he performed in and musical directed the Broadway in Bryant Park Series saluting the songs of Alan Jay Lerner, and recently musical directed the new musical BIKESHOP, directed by Gretchen Cryer. As her associate, Gerry is a vocal coach who studies voice with and teaches the technique of Joan Lader.

Michelle Dowdy booked a starring role on Broadway the day after she graduated from high school, and has never looked back! She is known as the youngest actress to ever play everyone's favorite denizen of Baltimore - Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. More recently, you may have seen Michelle touring the country as the Mistress of the House, Madame Thenardier, in the National Tour is Les Misérables. She has also appeared in the Off-Broadway productions of Marvelous Wonderettes, and Night of the Living Dead (original concept recording available now!!) William is a composer, performer and musician. He has served as composer, musical director and/or arranger to numerous shows all over the United States. Producer of the BC/EFA songwriter showcase benefit series 'Are You Working On Something New?' which is presented at Don't Tell Mama, NYC. William is also pianist to the legendary actress/comedienne Joan Rivers for her New York engagements. Resident composer for The American Bard Theatre Company. Michael Isaacs is MAC nominated singer, songwriter, musician and actor who is based in NYC. Originally from New England, Michael attended Berklee College Of Music and then went right to work in the clubs of Boston and Providence. Moving down the coast, his first performance in NYC was at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. The performance went so well, he was featured on "It's Showtime At The Apollo" two times. Michael has performed in so many clubs in NYC it would take up a whole page to list them. He has sung and played piano and guitar in many cabaret shows and is very proud of his work with System Noise in the MAC nominated "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust" and his most recent show solo show "Isaacs Schmisaacs" a Nilsson show.

Her passion for storytelling has led her to explore many different performance mediums and musical genres. Laura Pavles was born in Massachusetts, but now resides in Queens with her Greek brothers and sisters in Astoria. She graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music with a BFA in musical theatre. She most recently toured with the Lincoln Center production of South Pacific (Lt. Genevieve Marshall) and A Year With Frog And Toad (Turtle). Some favorite regional credits include Xanadu (Calliope) at Revision Theatre, and South Pacific (Dinah Murphy) at the Ogunquit Playhouse. She was also a production singer for Carnival Cruise Line many a year ago… Perhaps you saw her on your way to Mexico. We can only hope.

Paul Pilcz started performing at a young age doing theater heater all throughout Central New Jersey. He most recently graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theater from Montclair State University. He made his Broadway debut as Harvey Johnson in RoundABout Theater Companies first ever revival of Bye Bye Birdie staring John Stamos and Gina Gershon, and was also seen as Tommy in the HBO's mini-series Mildred Pierce staring Emmy Award winners Kate Winslet and Guy Pierce. Joe Regan is a Pianist/Singer who plays in Piano Bars and Cabaret Rooms. He has been Musical Director for Individual and Group Cabaret shows, Revue's and Benefit Performances. He has played in the pit for several Off-Broadway shows, and has opened for Steve Ross at the 75th Anniversary of the Chrysler Building. He is a 2007 MAC Award Winner (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) for Best Revue ("Johnny Mercer Sings" With Ricky Ritzel and Leslie Anderson) and a 2009 MAC nominee for Piano Bar Instrumentalist.

Jon Satrom holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from NYU. He has been a proud member of the Don't Tell Mama piano bar staff since 2010! He has performed all over the country on the national tours of A Year With Frog and Toad, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, and The Ant and the Elephant. He was also recently on the road as Company Manager for the national tours of Mamma Mia! and Rent. Notable regional credits include Grease (Danny Zuko), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph), West Side Story (Tony), Annie Get Your Gun (Frank Butler), Plain and Fancy (Peter), Smoke on the Mountain (Rev. Oglethorpe), and Me and My Girl (Gerald). Jon has also been seen in staged readings and cabaret performances throughout New York City including his solo show, "Middle of a Moment" and a recent run of "Mama's Boys" with three of his close friends and colleagues from Don't Tell Mama!

The piano bar opens at 5 PM daily for Happy Hour.

We do not accept reservations in advance for the piano bar. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

We have a live pianist daily for 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Beginning at 9:00 PM, our singing wait staff and bartending staff join our pianist for live performaces until the late hours of the night.

Yes! Our piano bar allows audience members to get onstage and sing a song to the crowd from 9:30 PM - 2:30 AM daily!

Yes, minors are welcome. However, as the piano bar is a bar that serves liquor, we do not recommend minors under 15 attending after 9 PM.

We accept credit cards in the piano bar and restaurant.

Yes, you can bring your own music to the piano bar, our pianists try to be accommodating.

Usually, we do not permit people to play the piano themselves as it can be disruptive to the atmosphere our pianist is creating.

We do not offer our restaurant menu in the piano bar, but there is a bar snacks menu available. We can hold a table for you in the piano bar if you wish to eat in the restaurant first.

We have open mic night every night from 9:30 PM - 2:30 AM. Simply write your name and the song's name on a napkin and hand it to either your server or the piano player.

Yes, all of our venues are wheelchair accessible.

No, we do not have a cover charge, except for special events. However, we do have a two-drink minimum per person. Food does not count towards the drink minimum.
